Chickpea Falafel Patties

The popular and immensely versatile falafel is delicious in a pita bap, as a vegan burger or in a summer salad bowl. With traditional middle eastern spices including tahini, paprika and black pepper, these gluten free patties are outrageously good, quick to make and a fantastic source of protein!

Ingredients

* Switch between cup/oz and g/ml in Account Settings*

  • Chickpeas in Water Chickpeas in Water 400g 2 cups
  • Zucchini Courgette 2 2
  • Gluten Free Rolled Oats Gluten Free Oats 120g 1 & 1/3 cups
  • Yellow Onion Brown Onion 1 1
  • Tomato Paste Tomato Paste 1 tbsp 1 tbsp
  • Tahini Tahini 1 tbsp 1 tbsp
  • Paprika Paprika 1 tbsp 1 tbsp
  • Garlic Powder Garlic Powder 1 tsp 1 tsp
  • Table Salt Table Salt pinch pinch
  • Ground Black Pepper Ground Black Pepper pinch pinch
  • Olive Oil Olive Oil 1 tbsp pinch

Instructions

  1. 1.In a medium mixing bowl, mash chickpeas with a potato masher or fork.
  2. 2.Now add all other ingredients and mix together with hands.
  3. 3.Use your hands to shape 6 - 8 patties.
  4. 4.Heat up oil in a skillet and fry patties 4-5 min on each side until golden.
  5. 5.Note: If the mixture is too wet, add more oats and if its too dry, add more tahini.
