Apple and Honey Oat Waffles

Topped with sweet raisins and cinnamon, this honey roasted apple and oat waffles recipe is breakfast heaven!

Ingredients

  • Oat Flour Oat Flour 120g 1 cup
  • Rolled Oats Rolled Porridge Oats 45g 1/2 cup
  • Baking Powder Baking Powder 2 tsp 2 tsp
  • Cornstarch Cornflour 2 tsp 2 tsp
  • Ground Cinnamon Ground Cinnamon 1/4 tsp 1/4 tsp
  • Ground Nutmeg Ground Nutmeg 1/4 tsp 1/4 tsp
  • Vanilla Extract Vanilla Extract 1/2 tsp 1/2 tsp
  • Clear Honey Clear Honey 2 tbsp 2 tbsp
  • Organic Eggs Organic Eggs 1 1
  • Unsweetened Almond Milk Unsweetened Almond Milk 125ml 1/2 cup
  • Unsweetened Apple Sauce Unsweetened Apple Sauce 60g 1/4 cup
  • Coconut Oil Coconut Oil 2 tbsp 2 tbsp
  • Granny Smith Apple Granny Smith Apple 1 1
  • Clear Honey Clear Honey 6 tbsp 1/4 cup
  • Raisins Raisins 2 tbsp 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. 1.Whisk together dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
  2. 2.Lightly beat the egg and then whisk together with the other wet ingredients in a medium sized mixing bowl.
  3. 3.Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients, combine and let the batter stand for 10min to thicken.
  4. 4.Remove the core and slice apple.
  5. 5.Heat coconut oil in a non-stick pan over medium high heat.
  6. 6.Add apple, raisins, 1/4 cup honey and cinnamon and saute for 5 to 10 mins until apple is tender and caramelised.
  7. 7.Heat waffle maker and spoon 3 tbsp into waffle maker, remove once golden brown.
  8. 8.Top waffles with caramelised apple mixture and serve immediately. Buon Appetito!
